Painting Miniatures Figures Made Quick And Easy
Constructing A Set of Fuel Cells for an Objective Marker
Terrain projects, big or small, are a great way to put old scrap to use. Here's another objective marker that I whipped up. It's a set of lost technology fuel cells waiting for someone to claim them.
Step-by-Step
I took 4 old fuel injectors from my car and hot glued them to a large circular base. I also snipped off some old pieces of sprue and glued them in and then added sand to the base. The whole piece was primed black.
To give the fuel cells the nice bright look, I used Rub n' Buff. I did this deliberately because I didn't want them to look tarnished or old.
The sprues were drybrushed with Citadel Tin Bitz, then VMC Gunmetal and then washed with Paynes Grey.
The sand was drybrushed Scorched Earth, Bestial Brown, and then Bleached Bone (or something like that). Lastly, I finished the off with some light green static grass. The grass also serves to cover up some of the areas I overpainted or where the color transitions didn't really look very good.
