Painting Miniatures Figures Made Quick And Easy
Painting a Khador Widowmakers for Warmachine
These Widowmakers have been sitting in my to-do box forever. I finally dug them out and finished them. I wanted to do them in predominantly light earth colors, so I used a white primer.
Step-by-Step
- Prime white
- Apply basecoats
- Greatcoat - Citadel Bleached Bone
- Elbow and shoulder pads - Citadel Blood Red
- Brass pieces - VMC Brassy Brass
- Rifle barrel and stand - VMC Gunmetal
- Gloves, bandolier, boots, and packs - Citadel Beastial Brown
- Skin - Citadel Bronzed Flesh
- Hair and lining of greatcoat - You can do this whatever you want, I used a Citadel Codex Grey to make the figure look a little older.
- Wash the entire figure, except for the red, grey, and gunmetal areas with Liquitex Burnt Umber.
- Wash the red, grey, and gunmetal areas with Liquitex Paynes Grey.
- Edge the cloak with some Citadel Bleached Bone and the armor plates with Citadel Blood Red.
- Paint over the belt buckles with a dark brown, I used Citadel Scorched Earth, and then draw a fine line over the top with VMC Brass Brass.
- Drybrush the fur lining on the greatcoat with a little bit of Citadel Space Wolves Grey, followed by a little bit of Citadel Skull White.
- Paint the face.
- Base
- Seal
Here's the full squad.
