Painting Miniatures Figures Made Quick And Easy
Painting Imperial Cruisers for Battlefleet Gothic
This is a fairly easy figure to paint. There is a ton of detail that takes washes nicely and it really only uses 4 basic colors. Some of the weapons are missing because I was toying around with the idea of using magnets to make them more interchangable. The weapon sections are painted the same way, just not glued on.
Step-by-Step
- Clean and assemble the model.
- Prime model and base black
- Basecoat the entire hull of the ship Citadel Snot Green.
- Basecoat the engine sections and the fronts of the batteries with VMC Gunmetal.
- Wash the entire ship with a mix of Liquetex Paynes Grey/Water/VMC Glaze Medium.
- Block out the front hull section with White. Depending on the white you use, you may want to undercoat first, with Citadel Astronomicon Grey or a Citadel Space Wolves Grey.
- Paint the prow trim using VMC Brassy Brass.
- Wash the prow trim with some thinned Liquitex Burnt Umber.
- Pick out a couple of lights in yellow
- Add some stars to your base by putting some white paint on a large brush, then riffle your thumb across the long edge of the top so that specs of paint get splattered on the base.
- Seal.
